Simple life lessons. Wisdom from India – short story.
Akbar the emperor, liked to challenge his ministers with puzzles and riddles. Birbal, his most intelligent and wittiest minister almost always cracked the puzzles with clever thinking.
One day, Akbar drew a line on the floor. He asked his courtiers to make the line shorter without erasing or touching any part of it.
The courtiers all walked one by one around the line, thought for a long time and none could come up with a legitimate solution.
Finally, it was Birbal’s turn and he cracked the puzzle almost immediately.
The solution
Birbal drew a longer line beside the line drawn by the emperor.
It ends just like that, one of the shortest stories has layers of wisdom.
Whether it is life, science, or finance, value is never absolute, it is always relative.
Sadness, envy, and greed arise due to comparison to fellow humans, alter your state of mind simply by switching perspectives.
In Science, everything happens in between singularity and relativity, the universe emerged from a singularity with a big bang and eventually will collapse again into singularity, in between we are all part of the same fabric.
In Finance, value is always relative to some multiple.
You too have the choice to switch the relative variable just like Birbal.
